Source Types

Official source types helps identify what information was successfully retrieved and from which source.

Info & Photo

When Official Source = Info & Photo, it indicates that both demographic and biometric information was retrieved from Department of Home Affairs (DHA) or a previously verified source. As a result, the user will only be prompted to take a 'selfie' which will be validated against the verified biometric.

Info Only

When Official Source = Info Only this means that we only received the demographic information from Department of Home Affairs (DHA) or a previously verified source with no biometrics. Therefore, the system will revert the user to Document Capture to get a photo and validate the user's “selfie image” against the document photo and apply document scoring.

None

When Official Source = None it indicates that Department of Home Affairs (DHA) was offline at the time the request was made, and no information could be retrieved from a previously verified source. As a result, the system will default to document capture.

MRZ Barcode

When Official Source = MRZ Barcode, it indicates that no information was retrieved from Department of Home Affairs (DHA), as the individual is a Non-RSA citizen, and no data has been previously received from a verified source. Therefore, the system will default to document capture.
